What’s In A Name?

Our Vision is to Lift up Jesus so that everyone might know His eternal life.” Jesus said this about Himself to the Pharisee Nicodemus when He said:

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up that whoever believes in him might have eternal life. ~ John 3:14-15

He was referring to a time in the Old Testament where God’s people were suffering immanent death because of their sin but when they look upon the image of a bronze serpent they were immediately saved. Just like the serpent Moses lifted up… Jesus promises to save us by being lifted up on the Cross. The greatest spiritual need we have is to be freed from sin…saved. Saved from the effects of sin upon us now in our daily life and relationships, and also for eternity. This is why we call ourselves Church of the Savior. We’re hungry to know Jesus as our Savior; the one who gives us an eternal-kind-of-life right now and forever; and we’re hungry to introduce Him to our hurting world.
