Father Michael became Vicar of Church of the Savior in September 2014. Before moving to Allen, he served as Rector at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Paris, Texas, and before that served as Associate Rector at Church of the Advent in Nashville, Tennessee. Fr. Michael has been involved in Youth Ministries much of his adult life, first as a volunteer then as a full-time staff Youth Minister at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in the Nashville area. He currently serves on the Diocese of Dallas Youth Commission, a role in which he teaches youth how to be spiritual leaders in their home parishes. He earned a BA degree from Middle Tennessee State University with concentrations in Business Law and English and a Master’s of Divinity from Sewanee/The University of the South. He and his wife, Gilda, have been married 35 years and have three adult sons, Logan, Chase and Rob. They have three beautiful daughters-in-law and five grandchildren.
Antoni (“Toni”) Luc-Tayengo is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology where she earned a Masters of Divinity degree with a focus on Youth Ministry and Cross Cultural Studies. She has a Bachelors degree from Southern Methodist University in Anthropology. Toni has been actively involved in ministry for 21 years and has enjoyed leading very small youth groups as well as very very large youth ministries. In addition to ministry with youth in the Diocese of Dallas, Toni has served in college ministries and spent 3 years in Uganda as a secondary school evangelist. Toni enjoys helping start and restart youth ministries and training new youth ministers in this important and ever changing ministry field. Toni currently serves as the Chairperson of the Diocese Youth Commission, serves on the All Nations Soccer Ministries Global Board of Directors, and teaches courses in Youth Ministry and in Cross Cultural Ministries at the Stanton Center. Toni’s passion is her family – her husband, Al Tayengo, is a United Methodist Minister from Angola who is a church planter for the North Texas United Methodist Conference. Her son Elijah is 5 1/2 and her daughter Jillian is almost 2 and they are her inspiration and the reason she continues encouraging and empowering the church to disciple children and youth.

The Vestry ministers after the example of Jesus who rose from the table at the Last Supper to gird Himself as a house-servant and wash the disciples’ feet, demonstrating how to lovingly serve others. The Bishop’s Committee specifically serve others by providing Church of the Savior’s resource-leadership for those tangible items which fulfill our Mission and ministries, most specifically in the areas of facilities, finances and as a council of advice to ministry leaders.
